15 Canadian Hoodie Brands Worth Wearing (2026)
Made in Canada hoodies cost more. Most of the ones on this list run $135 to $225. Sewing here isn't cheap.
Plenty of Canadian hoodie brands design here and sew somewhere else. Some knit, cut and sew every one in Canada. Some never say.
They're all here, sorted by what the tag actually says.
Full disclosure: we make hoodies too. Ours is last on the list, and it isn't made here.
Prices are in CAD, checked in October 2026. No rankings.
What counts as a made in Canada hoodie?
Three different things get called Canadian, and the label rarely tells you which.
Made in Canada means the hoodie is cut and sewn here. The best ones knit and dye the fabric here too. The cotton always comes in, because it doesn't grow here.
Designed here, made overseas means a Canadian brand designs it and a factory overseas makes it. Most of the industry, us included.
A bit of both means one hoodie says made in Canada and the next says something else, or nothing. More common than you'd think, and the reason to read every tag.
Same idea as our lists of Canadian clothing brands and Canadian hat brands.
Roots
Start with the obvious one, because it's two brands in one. The Cooper Canada Kanga Hoodie is $138 and says Made in Canada. The classic Organic Original Kanga, the one you picture, is $92 and says nothing about where it's made. Same logo, same store, different answer. Look for the badge.
Canada Goose
The parka brand built on made in Canada. Its $395 Huron Hoodie says made in Europe, and so do the other cotton hoodies we checked. The hoodies it labels made in Canada, like the Lodge and the Abbott, are $995 down jackets.
Lululemon
Founded in Vancouver and still based there, though the company is a Delaware corporation on the Nasdaq. The Scuba is the hoodie you see everywhere, $138 regular, and its page doesn't say where it's made. The annual report only gives the company-wide split. By cost, 40 per cent of Lululemon's products were made in Vietnam. Most of the rest came from Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
OVO
Drake's label, founded in Toronto in 2008. The Heritage Fleece Hoodie is 490 GSM, the highest GSM of any Canadian-made hoodie here, and it's $198. The Classic Hoodie, $168, says nothing about where it's made. OVO says it manufactures across North America, Europe and Asia, so read the tag.
Kotn
The Egyptian-cotton brand quietly started making its thickest hoodie here. The Heavyweight Hoodie, 485 GSM, says ethically crafted in Canada, and it's $148. Its Essential Hoodie, $118, says made in Portugal. One brand, two countries, both on the label.
Province of Canada
As made-in-Canada as it gets. By their account, every product they sell is made here, and most of their cotton is knitted locally. The Flag Fleece Hoodie is cut and sewn in Canada in 16 oz fleece, $138. Their CFL x Tragically Hip hoodie marks ten years since the band's last show.
Local Laundry
Calgary, and the hard way on purpose. Their hoodies are knit, dyed, cut and sewn in Canada, by their own account. The Heavyweight Hoodie is $150. Co-founder Connor Curran started it from his apartment in Sweden in 2015, with a $50 budget. The made-to-order custom hoodies on their site are a separate product, with no origin line of their own.
MTN.HEAD
Same Toronto crew you might know as Muttonhead. The Pullover Cabin Hoodie is knit, dyed, cut and sewn in Toronto. It's 400 GSM washed fleece, $150. Their sherpa and polar fleece hoodies say cut and sewn in Toronto, so the fabric claim is per style.
Frère du Nord
Oshawa, in a renovated pool hall. The fabric is knit, dyed and finished in Brampton, from cotton yarn imported from India. Each hoodie is cut and sewn in their own factory, one person per garment. By their count, the only thing in the building that isn't Canadian is the zipper, which comes from Switzerland. The Winter Pullover Hoodie is $195 regular.
Stanfield's
The long underwear company, in Truro, Nova Scotia since 1870. Its first big break was the Klondike Gold Rush. Their Heritage Fleece Hoodie is made in Canada from fleece made in their own Truro factory, and it's $95. Not everything Stanfield's sells is made here, so check the tag.
House of Blanks
A knitting mill's own label. Roopa Knitting Mills makes the fabric and the hoodies, and sells them plain, with no logos. The 3008 Pullover is 400 GSM Canadian-milled cotton, made in Canada, $135. One of their pages says the cotton is grown in the US. The milling and sewing happen here.
Naked & Famous Denim
Montreal, and the same formula as the jeans. Japanese fabric, Canadian sewing, and both are on the label. The Pullover Hoodie in Heavyweight Terry is 378 GSM Japanese French terry, made in Canada. At $223 it's the priciest Canadian-made sweatshirt on this list.
Polar Piece
The onesie people, and a fair-priced Canadian-made hoodie. The Canadian Made Pullover is $90. The fleece is made in Quebec, then sewn and printed in Ontario. Their zip hoodies use YKK zippers made in Canada.
East Coast Lifestyle
The anchor logo you see all over Atlantic Canada. Their #1 seller since 2013 is the $75 Classic Vintage Hoodie, and it doesn't say where it's made. The Made in NS Hoodie, $89, is locally made in Nova Scotia. If made here matters, the Made in NS is the one to get.
TEAMLTD
Us. Mississauga, since 2013. The Essential Oversized Heavy Hoodie is 420 GSM cotton with a double-layer hood, and it's $85. Designed here, made overseas. Canadian-owned, like most of the industry. Shopping oversized and under $100? Our oversized hoodies guide compares the rest.
What we actually reach for
Province of Canada when it has to be sewn here. MTN.HEAD for the cabin. Stanfield's when you want made in Canada under $100.
And one of ours on the back seat for the drive up north.
